A surf lessons is one of the best ways to enjoy Maui’s beautiful ocean. Our exclusively private beginner surf lessons are geared towards one or students or one private group at a time. Our surf lessons take place at “Thousand Peaks”, a local surf spot on the west side of the island, away from the crowded surf schools in Lahaina and Kihei. Get ready for an unforgettable experience!

One-on-One Private Surf Lesson

A private, one-on-one lesson is the best way to learn for first-time surfers of all ages! Our day begins on shore with proper instruction and fundamentals of paddling, popping up, ocean safety and surf etiquette. Get ready to catch and ride your first wave and feel the true stoke of surfing.

Semi-Private Surf Lesson for Two

Share the stoke and learn how to surf Maui’s waves together with your family member, friend, or partner! Our private surf lessons are always kept personal and small with 2:1 student to instructor ratio. This semi-private lesson is great for friends or couples who want to surf together and also receive individual instruction.

Private Group Surf Lesson
3 or more students ␥ 2 hours
Take a surf lesson together with your friends or family and make this the highlight of your trip! We keep groups small to ensure everyone receives personal instruction. You’ll paddle out as a group and catch waves continuously, learning wave etiquette and honing your technique.

Brett
Brett Sheerin has lived in Hawaii for almost 20 years. As a Naish Ambassador, Brett has surfed and kited around the world with industry professionals like Susi May, Pete Cabrinha, Reo Stevens, Ben Wilson and Jesse Richman.
Brett is passionate about teaching and an active member of the Maui community, coaching the surf team of Adaptive Maui!
Sharky
Sharky brings over 20 years of surf instruction experience on Maui to our team. Highly skilled and knowledgeable, Sharky makes sure you’ll have a safe and fun surfing experience with one of Maui’s highest level instructors!
We are honored to have Sharky on our team! Make sure to ask him for some stories, he can tell you lots of historical and fun facts about surfing on Maui.
Jason
Jason’s love for surfing started when he was 8 years old. Jay moved to Maui from Ventura, California 16 years ago and has been teaching surfing since 2005! He currently coaches the Lahaina High School surf team and has coached his oldest daughter to 3 MIL championships.
When Jason isn’t teaching he loves surfing with his wife and six kids! His favorite spot on Maui is Mala in the middle of the afternoon on a head high plus south swell light wind while everyone else is at work. Join him and book your private surf lesson now!
